because life is always exciting when you have goats

Today I went out onto the porch and heard one of the goats calling. We ran out there to find one of our pregnant goats had gotten into the fattening pen with our cow. Somehow she had gotten into his feed trough, and had her head through the fence, and he had her pinned against the fence. His head on her abdomen. I really pray that he wasn't butting her with his head. We got her out of that predicament, and I hope that she will be alright.

    Your cow is a he?
I agree, you never know what predicament a goat will get into.
I'm not sure I get the John Denver reference?

I hope that she is allright, and that her baby/babies are too. BTW John Denver needs to get his butt out to a goat ranch, or ANY place that has goats, then he can think about what he wrote in his song. See ya, bye.

I got the John Denver reference.

That song, "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" is my kids absolute favorite. I mean, it is played at least twice a day, anytime we're in the car. And that exact line is a standing joke between DH and I. Whenever something goes awry around here, we say "yeah, this country life is sure laid back". LOL. Too funny. Great minds think alike.

And Goatfreak, John Denver is dead, so I don't think he'll be visiting any goat farms anytime soon.

He died about 8 years ago last month - same day as Carla Emery, I believe. His experimental plane went down with him.

I always chuckle at the "life on the farm is kinda laid back" line, too, especially when I'm trying to get all the goats in the right place at supper-time and they're determined to all get in the milking parlour! It's more like "Grandma's Feather Bed"! :1pig:

If life with these goats were any more "laid back", I'd need Valium. LOL
