ice and a bidet(or homesteader version-squirt bottle) might be just the ticket to relieve those itchies. ;)

I have no answer about treating if it's hemmerhoids? maybe it's pinworms? That you can treat fairly easy if you confirm it.

Use something soothing like goat milk soap to wash with....make sure the soap has been seasoned at least a month before you use it....and make sure you get some that has only goat milk, the lye, and the fat....any other ingredients like fragrances and stuff might just aggravate the condition!

Witch hazel! That's the main active ingredient in those Tucks pads for hemmorhoids. It's an astringent, and helps reduce the swelling and pain.

Get a box of the baby wipes to have and use in each bathroom.

Get some Rutin at the health food store. It's one of the bioflavinoids, and it saved Mom from surgery in that delicate area.

I have a question. Why are hemorrhoids called "hemorrhoids" instead of "assteroids"?

Clean gently with water after each motion. Let dry thoroughly before getting dressed again. Hemorrhoid suppos and creams esp with hydrocortisone can help. However I often see people who've already tried that and we try a yeast infection treatment back there (even vaginal suppositories in the bottom if they aren't shaped too impossibly) with good results. Pinworms usually get worse at night and usually you'll have got them from kids (you don't eat sand yourself, do you?). You can do the tape test for them- wrap tape sticky side out around a popsicle stick and press it aginst the area and rotate, then inspect for any of them here's a picture of a bottom with them- only for the unqueasy http://www.biosci.ohio-state.edu/~parasite/pinworms_anus.html

Finally remember this about suppositories: insert the flat end first then the pointy end vanishes up there. Do it the other way and it wants to keep shooting back out and you'll have to push it in up past your finger joint.

After I had my dd I soaked in Epson salt baths (the hottest wateryou can stand) and used the witch hazel pads. I also suggest taking a washrag that you can live with out and soaking it in Witchhazel and putting it inthe fridge and then putting that on your bottom........That feels good :)

Acidophilus every day,.... worked for me ! AND, keep clean in the nether regions,... I had what i thought were hemmoroids (burning/itching down there), went to 3 doctors,... no hemmies,... they said i was just going to have to live with the "rash",... i did some research myself and came up with acidophilus; and it worked almost immediately ! Good Luck !

I was going to suggest yogurt, too. Acidophilous. Good stuff.

I have to say, i'm sitting here giggling about something a friend said years
ago - a term my friend used for diaper rash, anytype of bum rash - baboon but.
I told that one to my GYN and he had tears in his eyes he was laughing so hard.
Sorry if it's crude for some of you, but i still laugh over this years later.

You might increase the amount of fiber you eat as well. Try oatmeal. Hope you feel better soon. Ouch!

I really am not sure what you are talking about but if you're prone to Ahtlete's foot or jock itch, you might be having a yeast overgrowth, especially if you are just itchy down there. Try eliminating all yeast promoting foods for a couple of weeks and see if there's a difference.
