I have a 2 yr old New Zealand breeding doe that has developed sore hocks. She's on wire. We've never had this problem before in any of our other rabbits. We're going to put her down- we have her only for breeding/meat production and she wasn't productive at all with that. My hubby is apprehensive about eating her- his thought process is her hocks have sores, they could be infected, therefore the meat isn't safe. I think we open her up, and if it looks ok, smells ok etc. then it'll be ok, since it'll be cooked.

Anyone got any experience with this?
