When you plant something like basil beside something else to keep the bugs away? What works to help keeps the pests away? We had heard that if you plant basil right beside the row, also marigolds and nasturnums (sp?) at the end of the rows it will keep bugs away....

Any other suggestions to keep our garden going strong??

The book "Carrots Love Tomatoes" and its companion book (whose name escapes me at the moment) can give you some suggestions about this.
