I was looking into different types of salt and storage This got me thinking about iodine salt. I am in the goiter belt. So I was wandering short of stockpiling huge amounts of iodine salt, how do I get iodine after SHTF? Is there some sort of additive I can put in the soil to increase its iodine content long term?

Kelp would work if i were not completely land locked

you buy the kelp pre processed dried. fish and eggs are also a source .

buying 100 pounds of iodized table salt not very expensive and put it in quart mason jars it will last you a very long time , we use about 25 pounds every 2 years for a family of 5.

chances are if something so bad happens that we don't have iodized salt again in 5-10 years it won't be the top thing on your worry list.
