I bought a baby goat at an auction last saturday and when I brought it home I put it in my goats cage (I only have 1 female boar goat about 1 year and 3 months old) and my adult goat kept chasing the baby goat around,Buckin it with her horns and chasing it into the dirt.I put the baby goat in a cage near my adult goat hoping they will get used to each other from the fence, but I tried putting the baby goat back in today and shes STILL buckin him and chasing him around(hes a baby boy)...Is there any way I can get them to get along,Or will I just have to wait until the baby is bigger?
    Thanks in advance.

Have had the same problem with my new doe. Its just the pecking order, my 3 year old female with two kids seems to hate her. I got the little doe a week ago Sunday and put her in with my herd. she now has learned to stay away from the momma goat and gets along well with all the others. Just takes time and you will have to keep a close eye on them so that the new boy doesn't get hurt.

you need to keep your small goats away from your full grown ones, until, the young ones are large enough to protect them selves.
putting young goats in with adult goats, is cruel, the large goats, will hurt, and of times kill a baby goat.

howdy i keep my kidds away from the adult goats till bigger...i have a 7 week old right now in a seperate pen with a 4 month old for company they get along just fine...but i cant put the baby[applejacks ] in with the adults cause they attack i do have 2 kinder bucklings in with the adults and they have never been bothered but the mother is very protective...i also put the 2 bucklings in the kidds pen to play with the gals...they all get along...i have found any time that you remove a goat or try to place one they will said above the pecking order....I had 1 doe that i had to remove from the herd do to illness she was in her own pen for about a week and when i put her back after she was well again you would have thought the rest of the goats never knew her...she had to fight her way back in but after a few hours all was calm again..sometimes when I take the baby out for a walk and bring her back the other doeling will give her a shove but not enough to hurt her...i would take them both out for walks but the 4 month old is afraid of my dogs and trying to walk her stresses her out to much....I would wait till the kidd was a bit older before placing her back with the adults..i once watched a doe smash a kidd into the dirt with her horns smashing his ribs...only 4 steps away and I couldnt get between them in time to save him...dont let this happen to you....dale anne
