Tell us something that inspires you, gives you strength, or makes you feel better when you are down.

I think this is one of my favorite Bible verses. It always makes me feel better if I am down and it is very inspirational to me.

    Isaiah 40:31 (New International Version)

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

I just remember some of the really horrible, bad things that I have been through and realize that things are really not so bad right now.

I guess it would be to think about my mother and some memories of my childhood. That's one reason I like this forum, because people seem to be into the old ways.

In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul. -Psalms 94:19

This verse is super helpful when I'm feeling bad and stressed out with worry :)

    The sunrise refreshes me.
When my father-in-law was dying 11 years ago, we slept in the waiting room. We'd be so weary and disheartened, nights, everything was black.

But in the morning I'd look at the sky and feel renewed hope and strength.

I think of good memories and then have the hope that things will get better in the future. Sometimes it's just a bad day and the next day is like sunshine.

I have a 2 yr old boy and a 2 month old girl. When I need inspiration I picture the joy that shows on their faces when I walk in the door. Melts my heart every time!

Prayer! Everymorning on my way to work I pray(eyes wide open, I'm on the road). I have the whole road to myself and it is very early. It inspires me to just open up and tell Jesus everything. I feel so close to him at this time and it fills me with such faith and hope. I haven't been in any church in a very long time and I can't remember when was the last time I read my Bible, but he knows how important to me he is in my life.

Its spring! I love the fact that everything dies or goes dormant in the winter and then renews itself in the spring. The smell of a soft rain. The warm sun on my face and a fresh breeze. I get a complete feeling of youth in the spring. So much to look forward to. The garden, flowers, birds coming back. I love spring.....

if I need inspiring, sometimes it's just something that I have wanted to work on, a project or something that I've been too busy to read about or look for info on the computer. It usually can come at the end of a bleak period weather it is a day a week or whatever. Something comes into my head, and it is comforting to think about it and have something that changes my mood or feeling of stress.
Other times at night, to go out and look up at the stars.

Robert Frost wrote a poem called Devotion which I think sums up farming nicely:

The heart can think of no devotion
Greater than being shore to the ocean
Holding a curve of one position
    Counting on endless repetition.

Awesome Bible verse pick, Melissa. Tis one o' my favorites as well.

Lots of things 'pick me up', but for this thread I'll pick three to share:

*Hooligans-- watching them play and/or talking with my children about whatever they have to say can make any down day brighter.

*Sunshine--If I can look or go outside and the sun is shining brightly, I smile. I thrive on the stuff, it seems!

*Music--Music and memories are tied up together in so many ways for me. Turning up favorite tunes can bring a bounce and a smile quickly.

There is an old song recorded by Corey Hart in the 1980s which has the most inspirational words I have ever read. Words that I live by.

Just a little more time is all we're asking for
Cause just a little more time could open closing doors
Just a little uncertainty can bring you down
And nobody wants to know you now
And nobody wants to show you how
So if you're lost and on your own
    You can never surrender
And if your path won't lead you home
    You can never surrender
And when the night is cold and dark
You can see, you can see light
Cause no-one can take away your right
    To fight and never surrender

With a little perserverence you can get things down
Without the blind adherence that has conquered some
And nobody wants to know you now
And nobody wants to show you how
So if you're lost and on your own
    You can never surrender
And if your path won't lead you home
    You can never surrender
And when the night is cold and dark
You can see, you can see light
Cause no-one can take away your right
To fight and never surrender, to never surrender
    ---------

    Magic!

I can think of several but I love Proverbs 3:5&6
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.
Music also helps a lot. Tyusclan momma

I just remember that everything happens for a reason good or bad I might not like what happens but GOD takes care of me. I might not know the reason why but I have found out later on in life what it meant and why. I have faith in him.
