Does anyone have any plans or detailed information on round dairy barns? Or regular dairy barn plans for that matter....

Try this; I bought their book last year because I have the 10' walk-out basement foundation for another geodome on this property, and want to put a milking and haystorage barn in that basement...needed ideas:

From a local farmer here in central NY, states the round dairy barn was a dismal failure because of the manure. I guess there is not a mechanical cleaner like the Patz cleaner for round barns. So, it has to be done by hand going around in a circle. I think if you only have a few cows it would be okay, but 50 or so cows not a good idea. I love the looks of them though.

I'm not going to use circular manure drainage, but perhaps something on the order of a concrete 3"Dx12"W trench in the concrete floor with some sort of grating over it, sloping downhill and out of the basement, where I can hose it out. That will be at the rear end of where I have her stanchion planned, and run through her loafing area. I could even go underground with a pipe to the embankment in front of the domesite under the driveway, a distance of probably 75' to the embankment, at most. If I could just figure out how to put images into messages  !!! then I could show you what I'm talking about. Oh well.
