Once upon a long ago time I had no idea how many calories were in what I ate/drank. Back then I was drinking up to (and *sometimes* more than) 6 cups of decaffeinated coffee with sugar and milk each day.. a total of 450 calories right there!

Now I drink more water.. boring as it is  I still have a cup of coffee with hubby in the morning before he leaves for work, and then again when he gets home... sometimes I'll take that cup with no milk though to lower the calories.

I read an interesting article in the paper a while back that said diet drinks actually cause you to gain weight, because then you're thinking you can eat more because you're drinking a diet drink.

Yea, those cals will get ya. So far tho- the calorie counting thing seems to be going fairly well for me. It has been only a month or so, but I am encouraged. :)
