I'll make a long story short here :) We are looking into changing our social security numbers, due to identity theft. How do you go about this? Should we change names too? (course we would only recognize a name change on paper)--If you can change your s.s. # what still follows you ie:bills, loans, drivers license.....you'd have to change all that too right? Basically what I am wondering is does changing your s.s. # start you over legally? Do theft induced bad credit follow you? How about court issues where your s.s.# was used but you weren't involved in the offense? Really need to know, Thanks in advance.
