    Hi Folks,

Most of my posting goes in the poultry section of this website. This posting will go here, ha. Yesterday I retired from the Illinois Army National Guard with 26 years and 10 months service. My dad took me to enlist in the guard 30 days after my 17th birthday.

Congrats on your retirement!!! I had 22yrs and 11 months when I hung it up, don't miss the BS but I really miss my guys. Some of us were together for 2 combat tours, you bond with them in ways your family can never understand. Thanks for your service. My boy who's 21 just had his first day of Basic today, I hope it went well.

'Basic - went well', less chance than a snow ball in a warm place; such should not be used in the same sentance.

    Wonderful!

I love retirement. And the paychecks each month don't hurt either.

We continue to get a paycheck [and enough to live on too],
    We can use Space-A travel,
We can use tricare medical HMO anywhere in CONUS.

    Good stuff.

    Congratulations

    :)
