The Pygmy that I saved from the meat sale exactly 1 month ago kidded today. This is Big Mama and her baby doeling.
She is an older doe and I've only had her since December 11. After she kidded she stood right there and let me milk out a good container of colostrum for just in case (I have a lot of FF this year).

Just something when you watch them born and handle them
after that just gives the most wonderful warm fuzzies.
CONGRATS !!!! on the new baby and kudo's to you
    for rescuing the momma.

Congrats on the baby! It's darling! And I agree, baby goats totally surpass puppies and kittens in the cute factor... AWWW!

To cute I want babies now !!!!!!

On saving the colustrum you have no idea of this goats vaccination history or if it has CL or CAE unless you have tested. I would not use it becuase if she has something and you do you will pass it on to the babies.

One of my sons horseshoeing customers had a herd of 14 that he was going to use for a petting zoo. He raises miniature horses, he assumed goats would stay in the same fence, they didn't. I don't know if he wasn't feeding them right or it was the fences, since they have been here they don't even try to get out. He told my son to take them to the sale. 2 of the does had small babies (wet umbilical cords and mom still with discharge) and this one I thought was pregnant (she has all her permanent teeth so I don't know how old she is). I bought the 2 mama's, the 2 babies, and this one so they wouldn't go to the sale.

The guy sounds pretty heartless to me. Maybe a petting zoo is not his best choice of businesses.

Oh what a cute little angle you have there. Baby goats are the cuties as can be. I can't wait for my gals to have theirs. I have 2 months to wait on some. :)

Congrats on both of them. :)
