I just found this site on the net. It gives clear How to instructions with illustrations for all kinds of simple tasks. The Home and Garden section is extremely useful to new Homesteaders who might not have the foggiest idea how to...sharpen an ax, fix a pump, repair a roof, build fences..... All those simple tasks you are afraid to ask cause you dont want to look dumb. Yes I confess, I found the site while trying to learn how to sharpen my very dull ax and hoe. http://www.ehow.com/

Hi Mark, looks like a good site to me although I've not actually used it yet. I'll take the url to the library to let them know about it.

Are you aware of http://www.A9.com and http://www.lii.org search engines?
This site is reported to be a good one for librarians too http://www.nlm.nih.gov/
I think I was told that they have some voice synthesis works that are nearly human sounding vs. computer sounding. Might be a fun look.

Thanks for the heads up on the site.

Thanks for the heads up. I will take a look. Nice thing about ehow.com is that you can find it by simply asking google a question like How to sharpen an ax.
    very user friendly.
