We have a sick pig that we gave LA-200, think he has the beginnings of pneumonia. Directions said that if there was no improvement within 24-48 hours to call the vet. He is a lot better (48 hours was yesterday afternoon), but still sick. Do we need to keep giving him the LA-200, or will one dose do it over time. We gave the recommended dose for his weight, and directions seem to indicate that was sufficient, but some of the language made it seem like we need to keep administering it. Thanks for the help, you are all so nice here :goodjob:

i'd keep giving it for a week.

make sure the germ is killed. if not, it may come back, and this is how resistance to antibiotics begins.

Be careful with the dosage. There's one dose amount if you are just giving a one-time dose, another if you are giving it every day. Also, might want to talk to the vet for another abx, LA 200 makes a necrotic area in the muscle where it's injected which will have to be cut out at butchering time.

call and get some Naxel or something. We will mix LA 200 ( I prefer biomycin blue/white label) with Tylan 200 and use that.
