I planted way too much lettuce this year in my springtime zeal. I'd like to leave it in the ground as long a possible and just use it as needed. How long before I have to harvest it? Will it turn bitter as the weather gets warmer?

You can also just let it go ahead and set seed and then collect the seeds for next year or a late summer /early fall planting.

You can put remay on top and maybe prolong the seeding event. It won't get bitter as fast either. (told to me by a guy who does this)
