I'm sorry; I just don't visualize what the "pooch test" is. If you could perhaps use the anatomical terms, someone could maybe help. I'm at a loss!

Using anatomical terminology is nothing to be embarassed about. Rather, it gives a clearer understanding to those who might be able to assist.

NeHi
Pinch test?
I think they are referring to being able to tell if a goat is pregnant by looking at its backside. I still don't get it myself..
I've heard some folks say they can tell by 2months or so using that method.

All does are different though :)

Wow that is not what i was expecting I was thinkin milk sack! Interesting though thanks for sharing!
My doe's udder feels like a small deflated balloon; my other doe's has no udder to speak of, I am not sure if this is what you meant by the pooch test. This info about the other kind of pooch test; will really help when I get them bred, and can see what they are talking about in the changes that should happen. Good luck with your goats.
LOL! So. THAT's the "pooch test". You can observe the physiological changes of the doe's perineal area. I'm glad the article used anatomical terms, and now I can picture just what the "pooch test" is - LOL! Thanks for the link, QoTL.

NeHi
Would some one be willing to post pictures? I am not sure I quite understand the wrinlkled part, I have a doe that has a winkled vulva area, but would have had the kids already if she was really pregnant.
yes, does anyone have pictures???

NeHi
Very nicely said.

At first I thought it had something to do with the dog?
The link provided here claims you can start to tell within 21 days... Color me skeptical... ;)
