Help..... My wonderful son left the hose running yesterday...730 or so til 445p. Needless to say, the well is dry, and the pump was on the whole time. Is it dead? The well has an excreably slow recovery so right now I don't know if the pump is dead or there isn't any water. But if I wait 48 hours and still don't have water, I was going to check out the pump, which right now is turned off. How do I do that? This well is over 300 feet deep---I do believe 375. Can I change the pump myself? Right now, if I turn the pump on, I get a miniscule trickle at the drain valve, but no pressure. If I let the trickle run out, and check back in an hour or so, I get another trickle. I'm hoping against hope that the pump isn't dead, but...... I really don't think there is much water there yet---any little bit that came probably got pulled right back out, so I was going to wait.
