There was a standard few gifts for housewarming that are mostly forgotten nowadays. Something to do with plants, salt, bread and wine. Anyone remember what it is exactly?

That is the one and only housewarming gift I give. I got it from the movie "It's a Wonderful Life".

Bread... that this house may never know hunger.
Salt... that life may always have flavor.
Wine... that joy and prosperity may reign forever.

Bread - So you never go hungry.
Salt - So there is always spice in your life.
Wine - So your life is always is sweet.
Candle - So you always have light.
Broom - Sweep away the evil.
Coin - Bring good fortune for the year.
Honey - Represent the sweetness of life.
Olive Oil - Health, light and believe it or not, keep your husband faithful.
Plants - You will always have life in your house.
Rice - Sigh of fertility.
Wood - Your life/home will always have stability, harmony and peace.

The top 4 are more common, but the others are interesting too.
