I'd love to meet you and Carla and this is just down the road a piece (few hours, maybe?) Will you be needing any help with any of the workshops planned? We're pretty well-versed (or like to think so anyways!)

How would you feel about a buss load of kids in tow? They are verry well behaved. Well my three stooges (daughters ages 3,5,6)can get a bit roudy when they are out of doors or in need of being put out. :haha: We have 9. Anyway you are covering so many topics I am dying to come. How far do you recon you are from dallas?

    823 miles 13 hrs 45 min.

We have all kinds of things for kids to do... there is a pond for fishing & swimming (it's not big.. but you can get wet in it) There are going to be other kids there, too.

Everyone is welcome to come. Just make sure you have your own accomodations (camper, tent, hotel)....

We're planning on butchering something and having a big potluck kinda meal on Saturday night. At least that's our plan right now. That could change.

    none... just show up...

If you know you're going to come & want to let us know, cool.. but it's not a necessary thing.

Anyone and everyone including children are welcome.

We just ask that you bring everything you need for the time you're here...

I know I should pull up a map (I will) but I was woundering what big city you are near. I ask for directional reasons. Also I thought others should have a chance to see this post.

It's just off Route 9 in west central Illinois

    Look for Peoria go west

Then find Canton... Follow Route 9 until you find County Road 2

Turn south... Go about 1 mile.

Carla Emery will be speaking on friday and saturday, both.

If you're going to come on out, let us know so we can plan for it... It's going to be a lot of fun!

Ms C, you can make it from Dallas to Cape Girardeau (where I am) in 9 hours- so I suspect that estimate is a little bit over- because Chicago is only 4 hours north from here. (Mapquest is sort of iffy and tehre's a faster route, PM and I'll tell ya)

    This sounds like a blast- I PM'd you! :D

MsC- you can get from Dallas to Cape Girardeau, MO in 9 hours- PM me, I'll give you the route, Mapquest doesn't believe it exists but it's all highway, just not interstates, and it cuts a huge chunk of time off the drive.

Cait, you must be riding a pretty fast tail wind if you can make it from Cape to Chicago in 4 hours! ;) Even on my most lead-footed trips, I can't make it to St. Louis from Chicago in less than 5 1/2 hours!

Unless you know a secret route you'd like to share? :haha:

    tallpines,
Carla will be at our place the day before. I'm planning on making it down to Dawndra's event too. You're more than welcome to camp at our place on the way down. We're just south of Rock Fall (IL).

Plan on bringing my spinning wheels, so add spinning to the list of things to see and do!

So---if we need a motel for Thurs evening-------where is the closest one?
What time on Friday will "Stuff" begin?
Will you be putting out a schedule of which demonstrations will be given on which days...........along with the times?

(We will not be bringing any camping supplies along as we will be at the start of a long non-camping road trip.)
