OK... I have a question about some herbs and location/soil. I am wanting to plant some of the bigger herbs back toward the pinetrees, but knows the soil there would be acidic. (not right under the trees, a bit in front of them, but the needles do still fall there. the trees are TALL) Will Lavender, Basil, Dill Lemon Balm etc grow in that type of soil? I was hoping to spruce it up a bit back there with something useful, but don't know if they'll grow there or not. Does anyone know?

    Thanks!

I've grown basil and dill in a mulch of pine saw dust and manure. They did great. I've not grown the others yet.
