help with snap peas

    This is my first year to grow snap peas and I need to know when is the time to harvest them and can someone please share how you cook them? Thanks.

    Harvesting depends on how you like them basically . I like them when they are about2-3 inches long . Any bigger than that they are tough . I love them fresh . They are really good steamed . If you are putting them up in the freezer - blanch them - then spread them on a tray and freeze - then bag . Mine hardly ever make it to the freezer !!!!!

    I grow the sugar snap peas. I like to harvest the pods when they are 3" long to boil, stir fry and eat raw in my salads (they are really sweet and crunchy). I also like to let some of the pods continue to grow and fill out with peas. They are sooooo sweet and yummy. Those I just boil until tender and eat them with butter and salt.
