Someone is interested in buying my Nigerian Dwarf wethers as weed control for their pastures. How old do they need to be before they can live on pasture & water for the summer?
Thanks for your input.

All are weaned, 2-4 months old. they've been eating and drinking water well. But we feed nice hay, alfalfa in the morning, grass in the evening, and grain to grow on. This woman would be putting them out to pasture full of weeds with plenty of water. I wasn't sure if they would get enough nutrition, being a growing animal.

They will get all they need. Unless they are being raised as meat goats theres no need to be concerned with how fast they grow. And she can always supplement them if needed.

I had the same thought as Bearfootfarm.

If she has tons to eat in her pastures, they should be fine. But you may want to gently suggest she keep an eye on 'em and feed a little hay or grain if they get skinny.
