I signed up sometime ago but believe I neglected to introduce myself.
I have my own business online and saving to buy land waaay out in the country to start the hard work of following my passions to raise my animals and grow my own food and thensome.

I already live out of the way where I'm at, burn wood for heat, grow a lot of my own food and have chickens. Also a couple pooches that guard more than is necessary right now. lol

I'm learning and doing all I can to get ready when I find the right place to go. I'll prob. stay in Iowa currently since family will eventually move with me.

I have an RV to live in so will keep me through the cold winter months if I need to build a living quarters.

Glad to be here and connect as much as I'm able to time wise.

rural Letts Iowa here, how was your weather this morning? -12 and 30mph winds with a -30 wind chill. Cold morning plowing out with the tractor

About the same weather down here in West Point blanket!

It's amazing how it doesn't seem to bother the critters. I went out and cut some wood this afternoon and was pretty cold at first, but when you get moving around it wasn't to bad.

Not too bad out this morning.

Yesterday, I was excused from doing chores (along with half of the family) due having a nasty bout of the stomach flu...think I would have rather been doing chores in sub zero weather.:peep:

Thanks for such a nice welcome.

Nice to connect with other Iowas as well.

I noticed it warmed up here to around 26 for awhile today. Heat wave LOL

Hope stomach flu is on way out now, Ziptie!

Have a great nite and stay warm by the fire.

Most important thing for the stock in this weather is a good supply of open clean water and extra food. Glad to here from the Iowans
