I'm getting boys later this week (they are my first two) -- I have pasture with a touch a browse.... do I need hay for them or will pellets work? I just moved to the area in Jan and don't know who to get hay from. So I was wondering if pellets would work until I found someone. Thoughts?

How old are these wethers? IF they are young and still growing, it wouldn't hurt to give them a little bit of alfalfa pellets, AND a handful of grain (cob will be fine) to balance the calcium in the alfalfa. If they are older and done growing, they will probably be fine on whatever pasture/browse you have -- always watching their condition closely.

Make sure they have loose goat mineral, one meant for goats on pasture. And fresh clean water at all times.

They are little tikes born in March. The goat mineral I bought was Hoeggers Golden Blend...
