I have a hand meat grinder in my pantry that an old lady gave me. I have never used it. If we ever do butcher our own pig, and want to make sausage.. am I going to need the grinder? Is the chopper in my electric food processor inferior to ground sausage?

    Thanks!

The old grinder squishes it out and cuts it up, making the meat turn into little pieces...much better and more even than the paté that you get with a machine. If you want smaller grind, either pass it through another time, or put in a 'squisher' with smaller holes.
