What is this link at the top of this site that says you can get 320 acres of government land for $5/acre??

Any one tried this?? or is it just a joke?

It's legit .. but the outfit offering
their services may not be ..

If I remember correctly it involves some
old mining law from the late 1800's

Any citizen can file a claim for up to
320 acres of Federal property for a filing fee
    of $5.00 per acre ..

There's a whole raft of conditions that must
be met, but at some point provided you've
done the required work ( generally developing
a mining claim ) you can get title to the land

Most of what's left you wouldn't want but
who knows .. go for it ..

    Triff ..
