hubby brought two ewes home today. adult, that is about all i can tell you. seems one has scours. Now, I am going to give probious in th morning, got home late this evening. and have sheep feed, and minerals, and hay.
I have several questions, one, how do you tell the age of a ewe, and two, what do you use to worm them with? I hav the loose minerals, that I will use as a top dressing. should I give vit. b complex?
I raise goats, and know a lot about goats, am new to sheep.
everything you can tell me would be good. thanks, debi

Teeth is the best way to tell age on sheep. See if your library has Storey's Guide to Raise Sheep, it has some great pics of teeth. I use safe guard pellets as a wormer. What kind of sheep are they? Wool or hair?

B complex isn't going to hurt, worming isn't a bad idea either. the minerals have to be for sheep, (no copper). Hopefully the probious will halt the scours, you might need some elecrolites and a cocci treatment too. Has it got a fever?
