All I did all summer was fret about no rain, waaa- no rain.
Well, this morning in the wee hours it started raining. And it's continued all day.
I knew it was coming- I rushed getting the wood pile tarped and the animals cleaned. I even bought a new rain jacket.
But life being what it is, I forgot the squishy details of redwood country rain. I checked the one ditch to make sure it was clear but didn't notice that one of the horses had worn a slight track into her cover during our long dry spell. Enough to funnel the water right into it. And that the goaties, having been attacked this spring in the one shed, were very reluctant to go into it where I put their hay when it rains.
I forgot how slippery the ground is when the top inch get wet while underneath is dry.
And my new rain coat from Costco was an immediate failure and I can't find my old one.

Sheesh on me- I should have spent less time moaning about the dry and used it for getting ready for the more typical wet. I guess my head can only hold one worry at a time.

It's now at 2.38 inches and the day's not over. Whoopee- mostly.
