HI all, just wanted to share a pic of my two birthday presents that I got yesterday. They are nine month old does. The dark one is an Alpine x Saanen and the light one is an Alpine x Nubian. It's been several years since I last had a goat and I'm thrilled to have them. They are just what I wanted!!

Oooh, lucky you! Are they bred?

(I got a goat for my birthday - made of pewter! LOL)

Not too much to ask for at all! I've got the goats and the ten acres, and sort of a barn . . . but we just stuff 'em into the van or the backseat of my car when we need to move them! :p

That's not too much to ask! Not at all, a winning lottery ticket to go with it would be nice.

The does were with an Alpine buck for a few days, but the seller didn't see any breeding. Just wait and see if they come into heat or not. I've got a nearby neighbor with a good healthy herd and I can one of his bucks if they aren't bred.

Thanks for all the nice comments, everyone. The new goats are doing great and their personalities are wonderful. They're still shy and getting used to things, but they meet me at the gate and follow me around, frisk me for treats, etc. They come right up to all the friends and family that have come to see them. They're such fun!

Chalk Creek Happy Belated Birthday as well but I wanted to wish you one. You have a very nice set of goats. Glad you got them for your BD. A few weeks before my BD my DH got me a little buck. Congrats on getting goats for your BD.

Question do lots of people get goats on their BD? :)
