Hubby just shot a three-and-a-half foot cottonmouth. Second one today!!!
I'm gonna have to come gather up all your snakes.
Post a picture if you can (and are so inclined). I haven't seen a one yet here although I understand we have plenty down on the lake and the creeks. We have just one small tank on our property though, and this part of Texas is considerably drier than Mississippi I understand.
Tell your hubby to be careful though, from what I read cottonmouths are about the most aggressive of american venomous snakes. I think I prefer our shy little copperheads.
They are VERY aggressive! He just clipped this one from across the pond and it came after him! I did take a picture of it and will post it in the next few days after I get the film developed.
It's very wet here. We have a large channel on our north border, two diversion ditches which have running water year round and three ponds. Oh, across the road from our property is swamp.
