We have 4 jersey bull(steer) calves who are all about 8-9 weeks old. A couple of them have recently developed a goopy eye and I'm wondering if anybody would know what this is and what I can do for them. Is it pink eye? Do they need antibiotics? It's just a little whitish goop that is coming out the corner of there eyes.
Any help would be great. Thanks!

Probably from hay dust or poked from tall pasture grass. Pinkeye unlikely, fly season is over. Topside

Just monitor their eyes, if they are just starting to eat hay, well that's a new experience for them and accidents happen. Feed the hay below their head, not above. Hope I helped a little bit....Topside

I wish that was true for us!
I agree with Topside. Doesn't sound like pinkeye but an environment irritation.
Pics would be even more helpful if you can get them.
