In approximately the last 32 hours we have had the good fortune, despite the cold and thick ice cover here in Missouri, to have two does deliver without problems. At least they decided to deliver during the day rather than at night.

Here's a photo of the two doelings delivered yesterday, January 17:

And here is a photo of the two doelings and buckling born today, January 18:

Here's a rear view photo of the buckling I named Rocky Road:

I want to say congrats on the new babies. They are so beautiful and sweet looking. I love them all but if I had to pick the one I loved well that would be Rocky Road. What beautiful colors. Way to go to the momma goats to they done a great job on having such beautiful babies. :)

Beautiful babies! Congratulations, and hope all continues going well. We're in S.E. MO, and we lucked out and missed all the ice. I don't envy you a bit on that!

Congrats on the new babies.. and what beautiful ones at that! I love their markings.

I'm curious - what cross are the two in the top? Since one has ears like a Nubian but the other doesn't?

Anywho - glad they didn't decide to have their kids at night :)

The father for all is Nubian. Refering to the first born ones, their mother has the waddles of a Toggenberg but does not conform to any breed description we have in the several goat books here on the homestead. She is the same body color as the kids and her points are the same as well (black). The mother is basically a black accented gray goat and save for the ears and some starts on the head that are Nubian, they bred dominant to most of her external genetics in colors and locations.

Does anyone have an idea what breed she might be? We bought her from a family that were using her and her kids as chained up lawnmowers but last year's drought make that not work and the price of feed made them sell. The mother is not exactly a looker, but her kids look spiffy and have wonderful conformation. That's all I know.

very pretty, and i'd be inclined to think that is an alpine cross doe that is the ma of the kids in the first pic. gotta love spots :)
    all breeds can have wattles.

The little triplets in the second photo are curled up like they're still inside Mom :). I'll bet they feel more secure and warm nestled together like that.

My Gabby looks exactly like the firstborn doe with the nubian ears. She is alpine/nubian cross and a great milker so far. She had her first freshening last year and gives a large amount of sweet milk. All the babies are darling.
