Does anyone know if goats will eat wax myrtle/southern wax myrtle, or is there a flamming chance in Hades that they'll leave it be????

Although said to be deer resistant, our goats do browse on wax myrtle. Because wax myrtle has an aromatic scent, we have always tried to keep goats in milk away to avoid the chance of milk having an off taste. BTW, in a pinch we have crushed wax myrtle leaves and rubbed on arms and necks to repel insects when commercial repellent was forgotten.

I just found it on a list of edibles on the Fais goat farm web site. My aunt and uncle were here and wanted to know because they are bringing some up to mom. I told them that goats will eat just about anything, but it was fun being able to show them that yeah theyll eat it. grin.

Yes they eat it .This time of year when there isn't anything green.I thought they would leave it alone cause the deer wouldn't touch it.
