Goat health and well being

Our big semi wild (have been working with him but still barely touchable without treats) Beautiful Buck has somehow ruptured his eye. We wrangled him to the vet last night and they are saying it needs to come out or else it will be prone to repeated infection. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is is possible for him to heal? How happy can a Billy goat be with only one eye? Thank you. Blessings to all.

He can adapt and live a normal life. He'll find ways to compensate.

The eyeball will not heal. If he is worth keeping, have the vet surgically remove the eye capsule and do whatever else needs to be done. The socket/eyelids will grow closed, and he will be ok.
