Hi, I'm new so I don't exactly know how this works but if anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.
I have a doeling (about 6 months old) fall into our water trough today. I have no idea how long she was in there and couldn't get out. I could tell she was extremely tired; it took her 15 minutes to even attempt to stand and when she did it was difficult for her to do. I had her practically in my lap the entire time which is VERY unusual for her because she is skittish around people.
I have no idea what I should/could do to help her. She is in a separate pen for now and I dried her off, warmed her up, ect.
She has yet to eat or drink anything but I also don't expect her to right after everything that happened.
Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks.

Put your ear to her ribs/chest area and see if you hear noises from her lungs. I have a stethoscope, but not everyone does. My biggest concern would be that she aspirated water into her lungs and will get pneumonia.
If you have dried her off, let her rest for a bit. She may just be tired or she may have injured herself trying to get out.
If she gets pneumonia, she will need antibiotics.

You might consider a lower water source so this doesn't happen again.

She should be fine by tomorrow. Was it deep enough for her to be swimming, or just struggling to climb out?
It was deep enough that she could have touched her back feet to the bottom but if she was freaking out I doubt she noticed she could touch the bottom. It's an old propane tank so the sides are bowed out. She couldn't get her front feet over the side.

Thank you, this was a temporary field so I wasn't super worried about the trough when I put them in. The rest of the goats that were in the field are getting moved asap.
