I just saw the funniest and cutest thing ever in the goat barn. We have a pen of Sable and Sable cross does that live with a yearling miniature horse. One of the does (a sable yearling) has decided to make good friends with the horse Shocker. The goat (Chickadee) eats off the mane of the poor horse. It is like 1/2 the length of what it was. Poor horse. Then, today I found out why she eats her mane. I caught Shocker the horse NURSING the goat. She would grab hold of the teat, suck a little and let it go back, all the while Chickadee was holding her leg up for her. :flame: No wonder she never has any milk. We had finally dried her up and now this. :flame: Oh and then when we took Chickadee to the room to occupy her buddy and eat a little grain, Shocker started to get really upset and was like she was crying for her to come back.

Just thought everyone would enjoy this cute story.

That is hilarious!

When you are too busy to handle a bottle baby, the dam rejects the kid. But then a goat will nurse a horse. Go figure! Ya gotta love 'em.
