If you have a single Gilt that is isolated to protect her from being bred at too early an age, will she show heats without interaction with other sows, boar, etc.?(no other pigs in her pen/area).

How old is she? Most of our gilts don't show heat until they are 7 or 8 months. If you suspect they might be in heat, push down on her back.....if she is she'll stand like a cow in heat., watch her lady parts for swelling. If she isway off from boars or sows cycling, she might not have a strong heat.We have lots of folks on her that know a lot more about hogs than me....learn something new here everyday.

Hey MilkinPigs you Russian Boar wrestler she is 7 months old. Her portable pen is about 30 feet away from the other hog pen so they "talk" back and forth. Gilt showed a good heat once before but I'm not seeing it now. We slide her pen to new fresh grass daily, she sure likes that!
