OKay, yes, I am a horse person  gelding? cuttin? casterating?

Whatever it is called LOL

Is it done the same as a cat? Simply hold the pig (preferably small) still, quickly slit open the sack, pull out nut, and fray the cord?

I don't have pigs at the moment (FIL used to have 20-some) but am curious as this spring we make "the move" and I am getting a few.

Yes, very similar to how a cat is neutered.

You castrate by pushing and squeezing the nut down between your thumb and forefinger to make the skin tight, then making a small slit the skin, then a small slit in the membrane and popping the nut out through the slit(smaller hole is better), grab it and pull it off, avoid pulling on any of the white cord or where it attaches to the nut. Spray well with iodine and off he goes. For me the hardest part is getting the sow put up, she is evil mean if her babies squeal at all, i lock her in my stock trailer, no fence keeps her away.
