I am having a pen building party this weekend, my pen in 20 somethin by 30 something on on end i plan to have a gate of some sort to enable me to clean the area with a tractor after they are in my freezer, i used to have a "gate " of sorts made of boards stacked on end between two post, this worked well, but I am looking for some other idea, I could pull the fabric from one side each year, but i bury it and this would be tough.

I suggest you buy a Steel Tube Gate. They come in sizes ranging from 4 feet to 16 feet wide. I paid $65 for a 12 foot gate. They're tough as hell and do a good job of keeping my pigs in.

Speaking of Pen-Building Party, I just got done adding on to my enclosure. I added about 700 square feet to my existing enclosure, which is about 1,200 square feet. Fun Fun.

We've often made gates using a wood frame around cattle panels. You can cut down a panel into whatever size you need...of course, maybe a "hog panel" would work better for you!
