What is the best and cheapest way to stake things in the garden? Things that climb. Peas, beans, cukes, and so on. Thanks.

My Dad uses cane from his cane patch. I use Willows that my husband cuts down around the ponds and I save the baling twine from the hay bales to tie them together.

I have permanent trellises made out of 1/2" PVC that work well. They run the length of two beds and I just strung fishing line up and down them. I also did that with fishing line by the house, and just attached the top up high to the house itself on nails. Then hung these little pottery moons and stars over the nails. Last step not neccessary, but pleased my aesthetic senses!
