Hey all.
I'm in the process of having my pigs and chickens clear out about 1/2 acre of garden land for me. They do a bang-up job, but it takes me SO LONG to seed the areas they till and work up that I practically gave up and didn't get any fall crops planted like I wanted. It took me about 4 hours to plant one 500-sq ft bed. That's too long for me. It needs to be ~30 minutes.
I'm looking to invest in some planting/seeding tools to make the job easier and essentially possible.
My first thought was the Earthway tool, but I've come to discover it is made of plastic and aluminum. Those will shatter and bend on my rocky TN ground. I'd rather pay more to get top quality, especially if it'll hold up for 5-10 years.
I'm currently eyeing these two pieces:
http://www.easydigging.com/hoss-seeder-planter.html (with ALL the bells and whistles)
http://www.standnplant.com/planter.htm
Does anybody have experience with these types of tools?
Do they work as advertised?
Anything I need to know before buying?
Are there better options?
Thanks in advance.
