My driveway is lined with rugosa roses, and last year I picked some and dried them on the dehydrator for winter teas. This year I've been picking a few as I see them ripen, and trying to dry them on a towel in the house. Could I just pick them as they are ripe and throw them in a bag, rather than dehydrating them? I have heard of rosehip jelly, maybe if I get enough frozen I can make some. Speaking of this, does anyone have a recipe for rosehip jelly? My MIL said the nuns where she went to school as a child used to make it and sell it for fundraisers. ** I found a recipe for rosehip jelly! It's at www.pickyourown.org/jellyrecipes.htm - website for unsual jelly recipes.
