A perfect example of why homesteaders should not always be their own webmasters. Nice picture, but they should have either faded it out more, or used a table BEHIND the index. Can't read it worth a darn.

    Thanks, ZYG!

I don't find it hard to read, but if anyone has a problem with the home page, you can highlight the text to see if that helps.

I'm off to read about chickens! :)

C'mon, everyone makes a typo now and again. Sheesh!

    It's a nice little 'zine.

The chicken articles are informative, and I enjoyed the brief history lesson on the Potato Famine (whence came the statement, "God sent the blight, but the Crown sent the famine").

I think the heat is getting to people... Let's all go for a swim and then have an iced tea. Or something. :)

    Thanks. and great job

I could read it. However I can see where many folks might have trouble with the green text mixing into the green on the background pic. Especially those who might be color blind. I'd either fade the background a tad, or choose a brighter text color.
I had to try several times with backgrounds and texts on my site befor hitting on one that would work for anybody. I had an advantage though...my dad is color blind.
Keep up the great work. I'll sure be checking in on it from time to time.

I just found it, if someone don't want to read it, then don't. It won't hurt my feelings.

Yes, I know. Asking people to do things right, to be able to actually READ their website is being unreasonable. Sorry. Here let me just join you in accepting the lame mediocrity in the world. There, is that better?

It has nothing to do with mediocrity and everything to do with rudeness...

Thanks for posting the link. I can never get my hands on enough homesteading stuff to read. I didn't have any problems reading it?

Naw shes right -- from a designers point of view, several small changes would have improved the visibility and look big time!
But I am glad you posted the info for us!

I never said it didn't have good information. I never said I didn't appreciate the link, which I do. You're the one that got all defensive about my comment.

Anyway. To the OP, thanks for the link. It's good information. ZYG, I'm sorry if you found my comment rude. I didn't mean for it to be that way. Maybe it's the frustration of spending zillions of hours on the computer and having to deal with websites that make me want to scream! Maybe that has something to do with it - or the fact that it was 100 friggin' degrees outside and hot weather makes me CRABBY!!!!!

Thanks for the link ZYG. It's interesting to read the way they have to adapt to that cool climate. We, on the other hand, are struggling just to keep things watered enough so they don't give up on us in the heat.

I am getting homesick looking at that picture. Is it the same on everybody's screen? I can read it just fine and I am thankful for that. Now if my hearing was just as good...
where do you think that is?

I understand the heat and crabbiness... my AC is out right now...

Water under the bridge, can we kiss and make up? (without the kissing???)

This can really get involved - you can spend waaaaaaaay too much time perusing all the links. Thanks for thinking of "us" - and yes, some designer did decide to get very "arty" with their presentation. Still, if you did a critique, you might not have posted the link(s) - you're a good'un.
