Just bought a second tractor. Its a fordson major. The motor was rebuilt 50hrs ago. The Tractor runs great. But it does have a few problems. First the trottle linkage is missing a pece. The part attached to the carb is there but the piece going from one side to the other is missing. Does anyone know how they connect? I am thinging of making up a piece to connect them.
Second the fenders are bad. It needs a few cosmetics. Also the tranny fluid needs to be replaced. It has some moisture in it. Thats not good here right now, it freezes the hydraulics. Where is the pump located? I am guessing it is beside the pto output shaft.

The tractor is supposed to be a 62 Fordson major diesel. It is in good mechanical shape. The back fenders need replaced, and it is missing the throttle linkage that goes over the engine connecting the first rod to the carb. Right now it just rides along at an idel. I also need to drain the tranny because it is full of moisture. My DB used to have the same problem. I think the pump is right under the seat, so I wrapped it with a battery warmer. Hopfully that will thaw it out enough. It has a bit of blow by, but they say that is because the rings haven't set yet. Plus it came with a nice 7ft grader blade. Don't think it has a diff lock, but it does have chains and loaded tires.
