Lambing season is in full swing - 24 lambs so far and we are not even half way done. Thank goodness for our flock management software, otherwise I could not keep everyone straight. I know it has been discussed before what software everyone prefers and I have used Ranch Manager by Lion Edge for quite a few years. I have nothing to do whatsoever with the company, just a fan of the app, and though I would let everyone know it is now opensource (free). I think I paid over a $100 back when I purchased it.

We name all the locations that our sheep/cattle are on so here is the page showing our lamb crop so far. Just wanted to share the info!

I really like my Staples 3" X 5" spiral notebook. They give me plenty of room to write what information I need to keep, they way I want to keep it and I have not had one crash on me yet.
Lucky you! We started out keeping info in a notebook but between my carpal tunnel syndrome that limits handwriting to a bare minimum and keeping pretty intensive data on our flock, a software app is the way to go for us. Plus I need all the tax info, breeding info, pics and other data printable.

I use Kintracks which was free, but I liked it so much I upgraded. It's designed for breeding any kind.of animal, not just sheep. I find it super easy to use and it does everything I need a breeding database to do.

Not heavy on business aspects, so I guess if I were tracking weight gain for the lambs of each ewe, for example, or weightwgain over time, I might choose something fancier. For my purposes it's great, when I remember to keep up with entering the data!

Wow, 24 lambs already! That's amazing. I'm glad to hear that your flock management software, Ranch Manager by Lion Edge, is helping you keep everything organized. It's great to hear that it's now open-source and free. I'll definitely have to check it out. I've been using CRM software for my own flock management, and it has been a game changer for keeping track of all the different locations and animals due to unique CRM features. The ability to name all the locations and keep track of the lamb crop is a really helpful feature. Thanks for sharing your experience and the info about Ranch Manager.
