Even with the recent cold spell, flies were out today in 60 degree weather. Well at least it takes mosquitoes a while before they start appearing.

They were buzzing around a piece of raw chicken I had out for the cat.

Flies get into any crack they can fit, stay there through 20 below temps and the first 50 degree day they are everywhere. Mosquitoes have to hatch and develop. Tiny black flies, no-seeums, hatch in flowing water, mosquitoes in still water.
