I was finally able to work outside today. Thank you Lord it didn't rain like the weathermen said. My hubby and I built a Japanese tomato cage out of some wire we were able to salvage from all of my dad's collection (76 years worth). We also built compost cages. We turned our compost pile, hauled horse manure from my dad's place, raked leaves and enjoyed ourselves until our muscles are all sore and quivery from lack of use. I may be sore and suffering tomorrow but I am so pleased and so thankful for all we got done today. I love the outside and the clean smell of dirt. The horse manure didn't smell too good though :haha: :haha: Because of so many fire ants I have dedided to square foot garden on raised frames. I will raise peas and beans on the ground but other things I can above ground. I hate fire ants. I am not for using chemicals though and will have to glean from the information I found here at HT on controlling them organically. Boy I am tired. But a good tired. I have got to get back in shape after this winter lazy spell.
