would like to start having some fecals done. There really is no vets that take care of vets in this area other than the LSU vet school. Does the vet need to be familiar with goats or will any small animal vet be able to do the test?

I suspect any vet with a lab could do the test; in fact there are folks who do their own (I've been looking into this myself.) It's really a matter of being able to identify the eggs under the microscope.

I learned how to do my own fecals at www.fiascofarm.com She has pictures of eggs and everything on there. It is really easy. She tells where to find a nice microscope for $100 too.

You might want to find out if any of the assistants or the vet have their own large animals. We've got some great help with fecals from the assistant at the small animal vet - she's got cattle. :)
