There are now 4 hospitalized in Madrid Spain. The nurse, her husband who is considered high risk, another nurse who worked on same medical team and has diarrhea and someone from Liberia that came to Spain. They think the biohazard suits, gloves, masks used at the hospital are not up to WHO standards because they are permeable and this is how the nurse was exposed.
They're going to kill her dog. I understand kind of... BUT when this spread out of control, they won't be putting down every dog they come across. Seriously, there's absolutely no way to confine fido until he's all clear?
Dogs are carriers of Ebola and Marburg, just like raccoons are carriers of Rabies (which are distantly related). They will never look sick but if you get bitten or eat their meat (which they do in Africa) there will be a problem.
Are they going to put down every dog that walked through the area in Dallas where Patient Zero threw up?
