This summer me and my brother raised lambs for the fair. His made weight mine did not. I then was going to finish out my lamb and sell it at auction. I was planning on taking it to auction this week. I just walked outside to find it dead. I am so frustrated and don't really know what to do.

sorry to hear that. I gave 2 lambs for fair and they were doing fine after about 4 wks with new 4-h kids. doing great on gains and halter training, then 1 got a bladder stone and bladder ruptured and died. I guess it is one of those things that makes us who we are with livestock.

What to do. Not necessarily in this order:

1) get over it, we all have livestock die on our watch. You only get a beating if you don't do #2 on the list.

2) find out why it died and correct the management mistake that caused it.

3) compost the carcass.
